Pluronic F127 (also known as Poloxamer) is a synthetic A-B-A type triblock copolymer with a molecular structure of polyethylene glycol-polypropylene glycol-polyethylene glycol. The polypropylene glycol segment in the middle of the F127 molecule is relatively hydrophobic, while the polyethylene glycol segments at both ends are relatively hydrophilic. This amphiphilic property allows it to self-assemble into nanomicelles in water, commonly used for solubilizing and loading hydrophobic drugs.In addition, F127 has temperature-sensitive thermogelation properties, meaning that at low temperatures, F127 solutions are fluids, while at higher temperatures, the solution solidifies into a reversible physical gel. These unique physicochemical properties make F127 suitable for use as a drug carrier, wound dressing, surfactant, and in the preparation of 3D printing inks.
