Chitosan (CS) is a positively charged polysaccharide derived from the deacetylation of chitin. Its molecules are composed of randomly distributed units of D-glucosamine and N-acetylglucosamine connected by α-1,4-glycosidic bonds. CS and its derivatives have good biocompatibility, antibacterial properties, and biodegradability, and have been widely used in fields such as tissue engineering and pharmaceutical development.

Methacrylated chitosan (CSMA) is chitosan that has been chemically modified by introducing methacrylate groups into its molecular chain, giving it photocuring capability. The Xianfeng Nano team launched the CSMA product, which, through strict raw material selection and quality testing, has stable physical and chemical properties and can cure into a gel within 10 seconds under visible light.It has good biocompatibility, strong material scalability, and can provide a variety of viscoelastic properties to suit different application fields. CSMA can be used in combination with hydrogels such as GelMA and HAMA to better simulate the microenvironment of tissues like bone, cartilage, and skin, achieving improved 3D cell culture and bioink formulations.
