Gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) has been widely used in research areas such as 3D cell culture, tissue engineering, and bio 3D printing due to its good biocompatibility and visible light curing properties. Although the hydrogel itself has a porous structure, its pores are too small, which hampers the transport of nutrients and the removal of cellular metabolic waste during encapsulated cell 3D culture and bio 3D printing. The dense pores also hinder better cellular functionality.
