Low-temperature-sensitive methacrylated gelatin (low-temperature-sensitive GelMA) is a light-responsive hydrogel precursor material modified by methacrylation of natural macromolecule gelatin. Its key feature is that it can be rapidly crosslinked into a gel under ultraviolet (UV) or visible light at gelation temperatures lower than conventional GelMA (typically room temperature to 25°C), overcoming the limitation of traditional GelMA which requires high temperatures (above 37°C) to solidify. It belongs to a functionalized, nano-scale biomedical material platform.
