Hyaluronic acid methacryloyl (HAMA) is created by introducing methacryloyl groups into the hyaluronic acid molecular chain, thereby giving it photocurable properties. Due to its convenient processing methods and excellent biocompatibility, HAMA-based material systems have been applied in many biomedical research fields, including: chondrocyte culture and cartilage regeneration repair, tumor model construction, high-strength and adhesive hydrogel fabrication, controlled drug release, microneedle preparation, wound dressings, biosensors, and postoperative anti-adhesion applications. In addition, the numerous carboxyl and hydroxyl groups on the HA molecule also provide abundant chemical sites for modification, making it an excellent platform material, such as introducing adhesive groups or grafting drugs/active factors.
