Methacrylated hyaluronic acid (Hyaluronic Acid Methacryloyl, HAMA) is created by introducing methacryloyl groups into the hyaluronic acid molecular chain, thereby giving it photopolymerizable capability. Due to its convenient formability and good biocompatibility, HAMA-based material systems have been applied in many biomedical research fields.Including: chondrocyte culture and cartilage regeneration repair, tumor model construction, fabrication of high-strength and adhesive hydrogels, controlled drug release, microneedle preparation, wound dressings, biosensors, and postoperative anti-adhesion. In addition, the large number of carboxyl and hydroxyl groups on HA molecules provides abundant chemical sites for modification, making it an excellent platform material, such as introducing adhesive groups or grafting drugs/active factors.
