LATP, or lithium aluminum titanium phosphate, with the chemical formula Li₁.₃Al₀.₃Ti₁.₇(PO₄)₃, is a NASICON-type oxide solid electrolyte. Due to its cost-effectiveness and stability, it holds an important position in the field of solid-state lithium batteries. It has high ionic conductivity at room temperature while its electronic conductivity is extremely low, effectively preventing energy loss caused by electron conduction and ensuring the normal operation of the battery. It is highly stable in air, showing distinct advantages over certain solid-state electrolyte materials that are prone to moisture degradation. It also has a wide electrochemical window, making it compatible with high-voltage cathode materials. LATP can be used in all-solid-state lithium batteries for power applications in electric vehicles, drones, aerospace equipment, and can replace traditional liquid electrolytes to mitigate thermal runaway risks. It can also be applied in grid-level and home energy storage systems, as well as microbatteries for flexible electronics and medical implantable devices. Additionally, it is suitable for specialized batteries operating in high and low-temperature environments ranging from -40°C to 150°C.
