The main method for preparing industrial-grade multi-walled carbon nanotubes is chemical vapor deposition (CVD). During the CVD process, carbon sources (such as methane or acetylene) decompose under high temperatures in the presence of catalysts (such as iron, cobalt, or nickel), depositing into tubular structures. By controlling the reaction conditions and using specific catalysts, it is possible to precisely control the diameter, length, and structural characteristics of multi-walled carbon nanotubes.
