Name: Protein Nanozyme
Product performance: Human-derived ferritin heavy chain recombinant protein is used as the protein backbone, and ferritin/MnO2 nanozymes are synthesized in situ by using its natural affinity for metal ions. A hybrid nanozyme (Mito-Fenozyme) with mitochondrial targeting ability was obtained by further modification of triphenylphosphonium (TPP). The results show that the Mito-Fenozyme nanozyme has high SOD enzyme activity and shows relatively good catalase (CAT) activity. What’s more interesting is that the nanozyme did not show obvious peroxidase (POD) activity. This feature enables Mito-Fenozyme nanozyme to not only effectively eliminate O2•– through the SOD-CAT cascade reaction, but also to avoid POD induces high cytotoxic hydroxyl radicals (•OH). Cell tests have further confirmed that the nanozyme has the ability to target mitochondria and eliminate mitochondrial source O2•-
