Recently, Professor Bin Xu from the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Professor Patrice Simons group from the University of Toulouse 3 in France published a titled "Two-dimensional MXenes for electrochemical capacitor applications: Progress, challenges and perspectives" in the journal Energy Storage Materials. "Review paper.

Supercapacitors have the advantages of high power density and long cycle life. They are electrochemical energy storage devices with good development prospects. The electrode material is the key to determining its performance. The two-dimensional transition metal carbide/nitride "MXenes" material has an intercalation pseudocapacitance energy storage mechanism, high density, metal-like conductivity, abundant surface end groups and two-dimensional layered structure. It is a kind of material that can be used for both Ideal electrode material for supercapacitors with high energy and high power density. In recent years, the application of two-dimensional MXenes materials in supercapacitors has been a hot spot in international research.

This article comprehensively and systematically reviews the latest research progress in the application of MXenes materials in the field of supercapacitors at home and abroad, including the preparation methods, composition diversity, structure construction, chemical modification, compounding with other active materials, water systems and non- The electrochemical characteristics and energy storage mechanism in the water electrolyte system, and the application of MXenes materials in hybrid supercapacitors, flexible supercapacitors and miniature supercapacitors. On the basis of summarizing the above research work, the author analyzed the main challenges faced by the application of MXenes materials in the field of supercapacitors, and pointed out that further improvements should be made in the energy storage mechanism of MXenes materials, surface chemical control, and high-performance device construction. In-depth study. Associate Professor Zhu Qizhen, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, is the first author of this article, and Professor Bin Xu and Professor Patrice Simon are the co-corresponding authors. Beijing University of Chemical Technology is the first completion unit.
