Controlling light emission is fundamental to photonics and radiation detection. Strong coupling between excitons and confined electromagnetic modes forms light-matter states called polaritons, allowing control over emission. In scintillators, such effects are mainly studied in nanoscale structures under optical excitation, which limits their applicability to bulk materials under ionizing radiation. In this paper, we demonstrate exciton–plasmon strong coupling in macroscopic CsPbBr3. Under both optical and X-ray excitation, nanosheet/silver nanocube-PDMS composites show excellent performance. By tuning the size of the nanocubes and temperature, detuning can be controlled to produce spectral splitting and mode anti-crossing in the 85 nm and 80 nm composites. Collective coupling strengths of around 90 meV and 98 meV exceed the strong coupling threshold, indicating that hybridization can still be observed in bulk composites under X-ray excitation. The average decay time shortened by up to (6.58 ± 0.88) times. After X-ray irradiation, the same strongly coupled composites showed longer emission, with average decay times of about 37 s and 33 s, while this component was not observed in the unresolved 75 nm composites or bare nanosheet reference samples. Spatially averaged electrodynamics analysis suggests that isolated CNP multilayers cannot fully explain the collective interactions, highlighting the importance of strongly weighted local plasmonic environments. These results suggest that nanoscale plasmonic structures are an additional parameter for designing bulk scintillators.
