AFM: Overview of MXene Photothermal Conversion

 Since 2011 since found that two-dimensional transition metal carbon nitride (MXene) material because of its unique planar structure, chemical diversity and superior physical and chemical properties and attracted widespread attention. In recent years, MXenes has demonstrated excellent light-to-heat conversion performance due to its excellent electromagnetic wave absorption capability and local surface plasmon resonance effect. Light-to-heat conversion is a way to effectively use solar energy, which can convert solar energy into thermal energy, so that MXenes can be used in various fields such as solar power generation and biomedicine. However, the photothermal performance of MXenes has not received enough attention until now.

Achievements

     Recently, South China Normal University ‘s Li Lai Sheng Jiaoshou and Wang Jing Research Associate at the top international journal Advanced Functional Materials published entitled Nitrogen-Doped Ti 3 C 2  MXene: Electrochemical Mechanism Investigation and the Analysis " paper. In recent years , the research progress of MXenes in the application of light-to-heat conversion is summarized , and the mechanism and application of light-to-heat conversion are comprehensively introduced. First, it briefly summarizes the synthesis strategy of MXenes and its nanocomposites, and discusses its photothermal conversion mechanism. The most important thing is to forecast the development direction of its photothermal applications. It is expected that 2D MXenes will become one of the mainstream photothermal materials through careful material design and interdisciplinary research methods, and further expand its application fields in the near future.

in conclusion

      There is no doubt that 2D MXene material plays an important role in the field of light-to-heat conversion. I believe that with the help of material design, interdisciplinary cooperation and innovative ideas, we will overcome the current difficulties and make MXenes one of the most promising photothermal materials.
