Brief introduction
As a nano-functional material comparable to graphene, MXene is rapidly rising. This article introduces the related research progress of MXene thin film. First, the preparation and physicochemical properties of MXene are introduced, especially the peeling, dispersion stability, and post-processability that are very important for the preparation of MXene film. Subsequent introductions to different types of MXene films, including individual MXene films, composite films embedded in nanomaterials and polymer composite films. So far, the target applications of MXenes membranes include gas separation, wastewater treatment, desalination and solvent purification. In addition, the potential applications of MXene membranes in phase inversion and interfacial polymerization, layer-by-layer assembly of nanocomposite membranes, etc. were also discussed. Looking into the future, it is necessary to explore the application of highly conductive and catalytically active MXene films in applications where other materials are not easily realized. In addition, the simulation/modeling method is also helpful for the design of MXene. The review summary of this article plays a guiding role in the exploration of materials science and MXene film preparation.
