Metformin and Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN) target the metabolism and aging process in the liver. Here, Victoria C. Cogger, ANZAC Research Institute, University of Sydney, Australia, and others investigated the pharmacology and toxicology of quantum dot-based nanomedicine as a carrier of metformin and NMN in young and old mice to determine its therapeutic efficacy Whether the reduction effect related to aging can be improved.







Key points of this article:

1) Pharmacokinetic studies have shown that compared with unconjugated preparations, QD-conjugated metformin and NMN have higher bioavailability and selectively accumulate in the liver after oral administration.



2) Pharmacodynamic data shows that compared with unconjugated preparations, QD-conjugated drugs have higher physiological, metabolic and cellular potency (25×metformin; 100×NMN), and highlight the peak induction of glucose tolerance test And greater changes in metabolic response.
