Nb2C MXene used in sodium power

source:beike new material Views:3709time:2020-08-10 QQ Academic Group: 1092348845

【Research Background】

In recent years, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have frequently appeared in every corner of people‘s daily lives. Unfortunately, limited lithium resources and expensive prices severely hamper the further development of lithium. Sodium ion batteries (SIBs) have attracted widespread attention as potential substitutes for lithium ion batteries in the field of large-scale energy storage due to their rich sodium reserves and similar charge storage mechanisms on the earth.

[Achievement Profile]

Recently, the  School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, South China University of Technology professor Wusong Ping teams in the academic journal Chemistry Select publish research papers, entitled Hybrid Charge-Storage Route to Nb 2 CT the X-  MXene AS Sodium-Anode for the Ion Batteries. Article reported on a The sodium ion battery of Nb 2 C MXene has contributed to the further application of Nb 2 C in sodium ion battery.

[Summary of this article]

Two-dimensional Nb2CTx MXene was synthesized by hydrothermal method and freeze-dried. For SIBs, 2D Nb2CTx MXene provides a stable reversible capacity of 102 mAh / g at a rate of 1.0 A / g after 500 cycles in a half-cell, and at a rate of 100 mA / g after 50 charge-discharge cycles in a full battery Capacity of 181 mAh / g. This unique layered structure can be fully maintained during the charge and discharge process, which accelerates the dynamic diffusion of ions in the two-dimensional layered structure. Therefore, Nb 2 CT x MXene is expected to become a negative electrode material for sodium ion batteries
